Jenners, Hadids and Stenmark twins

WE VE seen the alien , heroin chic and mature-age model , but fashion s favourite new trend is all about keeping things in the family.

If you ve noticed all models suddenly look similar, there is a reason: they re related.

Being the sole beauty in a single gene pool is no longer enough for major fashion brands, which have begun favouring models who not only share the same runway-worthy features, but the same surnames.

Balmain creative director Olivier rousting took modelling nepotism to the extreme last year, recruiting three sets of siblings Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Erika and Joan Smalls to star in the French fashion house s Fall 2015/16 campaign.

It generated much more publicity than a similar campaign would have sans sisters and sparked a new-found obsession with supermodel siblings.

It is this marketing edge which saw the trend reach saturation point this year, with even high street brands such as Puma, Just Jeans and Hogan spruiking their wares via models from the same gene pool.

Locally, twins Jordan and Zac Stenmark have risen to the top of the modelling pile thanks to their near identical chiselled facial features and marble-like physiques. The pair rarely front fashion campaigns separately, and have worked for the likes of Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger and David Jones as a duo.
